Trip ratings

 

Easy: Protected waters, up to 3 miles one way

 

Moderate: Up to 1 mile of open water (crossing) and/or up to 6 miles one way -- includes portages.

 

Difficult or Strenuous: Open crossings of up to 9 miles one way, portages, and/or rapids above Class 1.

 

In addition, all trips are subject to safety factors associated with, among other things, location, total distance, weather, remoteness, volume of river flow and tidal currents.
